Job Description

Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Officer Job Description Summary Tremont Rescue seeks an experienced, advanced life support (ALS) emergency medical services provider to serve as our Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Officer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the agency's continuous quality improvement and quality assurance program that provides consistent on-going evaluation of Tremont Rescue's organizational efficiency and operational quality in providing pre-hospital care to the Tremont Fire Protection District.
Hours:
Minimum of 1, 12 hour day shift per week (0600-1800).
Hourly Wage:
$23 per hour with a 6 month probationary period.
Position Type:
Part Time Key Responsibilities The responsibilities of the CQI Officer include:
  • Serving as the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) point of contact for Tremont Rescue as required by the Peoria Area Emergency Medical Services (PAEMS) Office.
  • Conduct monthly QA/QI review of all EMS patient care reports as defined by PAEMS office for completion, accuracy, and that care provided adheres to PAEMS Prehospital Care Protocol Manual.
  • Complete monthly high acuity statistics and monthly summary reports and submit them to
PAEMS' QA/QI
Coordinator, Tremont Rescue Medical Director, and officers.
  • Collaborate with Squad Review Board and Medical Director as needed to address educational needs and conduct call reviews.
  • Ensure charts are properly marked for billing, upload required documentation needed to initiate billing, and collaborate with ambulance billing service
  • Compile annual report for Board of Directors.
  • Serve as a member of the Squad Review Board.
  • Assists the Chief in the development of probationary members through precepting while on shift.
  • Serve as an EMS provider, responding to 9-1-1 calls and providing pre-hospital care while on shift. Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Current Paramedic or Pre-Hospital Registered Nurse (PHRN) license in Illinois
  • Valid driver's license
  • Current certifications in the following: American Heart Association Basic life support cardiopulmonary resuscitation, advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS), pediatric advanced life support (PALS), and international trauma life support (ITLS).
  • At least 3 years of experience as an ALS provider in the pre-hospital setting.
  • A detail-oriented individual who can communicate clearly via written and oral forms of communication.
  • A team player. Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience in precepting or teaching probationary EMS personnel.
  • At least 5 years of experience as an ALS provider in the pre-hospital setting would be preferred.
  • Willingness to work with and develop EMS personnel from diverse backgrounds.
  • Previous experience with ImageTrend or another electronic patient care reporting software.
  • Proficient in using computers and products like Microsoft Office (i.e. Microsoft Word)
  • An individual who is organized, driven, and able to work independently.
  • Has a strong desire to serve the agency and the community.
