Crane/Excavator Operator Night Shift (Halifax, NC)

Are you skilled in operating heavy machinery and passionate about contributing to a sustainable environment? We are currently seeking a competent and safety-conscious Crane Operator to join our metal recycling facility. As a Crane Operator at our metal recycling shredder, you'll play a crucial role in efficiently handling and processing scrap metal materials. This position is for a night shift crane operator. Responsibilities Operate and control the crane to transport, load, and unload materials for processing Ensure the safe and efficient movement of materials around the facility, adhering to all operational and safety guidelines. Conduct pre-operation inspections on the crane to identify and report any potential malfunctions or safety hazards Collaborate with team members and supervisors to maintain a smooth workflow and optimize productivity Monitor and follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to equipment or materials Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the crane to ensure its optimal performance and longevity. Requirements Experience as a Crane Operator, preferably in an industrial or metal recycling setting Understanding of crane operation techniques, safety practices, and relevant equipment maintenance Physically able to sit for extended periods, climb heights, and withstand exposure to outside weather conditions Exceptional hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a diverse team Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays
