Custodial Worker

Job Title:

Custodial Worker Job Description As a custodial worker, you will perform daily custodial duties such as sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, and trash removal. You will maintain the cleanliness of bathrooms, warehouse areas, and facility grounds, assist with donation intake and organization, and transport donations between various locations. Responsibilities Drive company vehicles to pick up and transport donations, including driving a Sprinter/commercial van daily and occasionally a 14 ft box truck. Move materials using manual labor or equipment such as hand trucks. Support warehouse operations by stocking and organizing supplies. Perform basic facility maintenance such as unclogging sinks and making minor repairs. Help with opening and closing duties when needed. Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers. Maintain safety standards and complete monthly safety checks. Essential Skills Experience in janitorial, custodial, or general labor duties. Valid NYS driver's license. Ability to perform custodial duties, including cleaning bathrooms, floors, and common areas. Strong attendance and reliability. Housekeeping, plumbing, and general maintenance skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 6-12 months of custodial, warehouse, or related experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment. Work Environment This role is situated in a fast-paced, physically active environment, requiring comfort with physical tasks and the ability to drive various vehicles. The dress code is casual yet suitable for manual labor tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hempstead, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
