Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Service Manager to lead our dealership's automotive service department with energy and enthusiasm. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer satisfaction, and drive service excellence. Your leadership will inspire your team of technicians and service advisors to deliver top-quality repairs and maintenance, fostering a positive environment that promotes growth and efficiency. The ideal candidate is passionate about automotive repair, possesses strong dealership experience, and excels at motivating staff to achieve outstanding results. Duties Manage all aspects of the service department, including scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation to maximize productivity. Lead and motivate a team of service technicians, ensuring high standards of automotive diagnostics, repair quality, and customer service. Oversee vehicle maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, tire services, shocks & struts, transmissions, and collision repairs. Utilize estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools to prepare accurate repair estimates and service writing. Drive upselling initiatives by identifying additional services or repairs that benefit the customer while increasing dealership revenue. Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Handle client communication effectively, providing transparent updates on vehicle status and repair progress. Manage cash handling procedures accurately during payment processing and invoicing. Monitor department performance metrics; implement continuous improvements to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Skills Proven dealership experience with a strong background in automotive repair and auto service management. Extensive mechanic experience with automotive diagnostics and repair procedures across various systems including transmissions, suspension, brakes, shocks & struts, oil changes, tire services, collision repair, and more. Proficiency in estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools for precise service writing. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients about repairs and recommendations. Strong sales acumen with a focus on upselling additional services to enhance customer value. Mechanical knowledge combined with auto estimating expertise to accurately assess vehicle issues. Experience in auto service management roles involving service technician supervision and workflow coordination. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles as needed. Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in cash handling and documentation processes.
