Job Description

Position Summary:
The Assistant Service Manager coordinates team and contractor activities, and performs hands-on maintenance to ensure a safe, well-maintained community.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensures community common areas and grounds are consistently maintained to company standards, proactively identifying and resolving any potential hazards. Provides excellent customer service by anticipating customer's needs, addressing questions and concerns promptly and professionally. Oversees team productivity through completion of service requests, vacant apartment maintenance, and general community maintenance repairs. Provides hands-on training, mentorship, and field guidance to maintenance associates. Maintains accurate records of work performed utilizing the appropriate operating platform. Maintains a well-organized maintenance shop and oversees the timely ordering of parts and supplies to support efficient operations.
Additional Skills:
Expertise in plumbing, electrical, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), appliance repair and apartment turnover preferred.
Preferred Education:
High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) or equivalent experience

Additional Requirements:
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 608 (Core and Type II) certification required Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Multilingual ability is a plus. The physical requirements for this position include: Below waist lift

  • Occasional, Unilateral balance
  • Average of 20 seconds or more per leg Travel between communities may be required daily.
Ability to perform these functions at multiple sites is required. After hours on-call support as needed Valid California driver's license; Maintain continuous vehicle liability insurance as required by state law. (This role requires the regular and frequent operation of a vehicle, as defined in the Company's MVR policy, and is part of the essential duties of this position.) Minimum Qualifications /
