Job Description

Join a respected, locally owned Santa Cruz transportation company in a part-time weekday office role. You will receive paid training, work with a close-knit professional team, and have the opportunity to build dispatch, scheduling, customer-service, and operations skills in a role that can grow over time. Your primary responsibility will be to support a high level of customer satisfaction from initial reservation through final payment. This role involves frequent communication with clients and chauffeurs by phone, text, and email, as well as working in our reservation system. Because business volume can change throughout the day, week, and year, the ideal candidate will stay calm under pressure, prioritize effectively during busy periods, and use slower times productively to stay ahead of upcoming work. The regular schedule is generally Tuesday-Thursday or Friday, approximately 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., averaging 12-15 hours per week. Exact start and end times may vary occasionally based on business volume and coverage needs. Availability around major holidays is important, and occasional weekend or fill-in coverage may be needed for vacations, sick days, or other scheduling needs. Initial training typically takes about a month and is paid. This is an in-person position. There is also potential for this role to grow into a position with greater responsibility over time. We value people who want to learn, develop their skills, and take on more as they become comfortable with the basics of the job. Key Responsibilities Take reservations by phone and email. Communicate with and assist chauffeurs. Process driver paperwork and reconcile discrepancies. Process payments and run financial reports. Review reservations for accuracy and completeness. Build driver schedules based on availability, weather, and traffic conditions. Maintain a professional and welcoming office atmosphere for clients and coworkers. Qualifications Positive, friendly attitude. Self-starter who can work independently. Strong customer service, listening, and communication skills. Excellent time management and organization. Professional phone and email etiquette. Ability to stay calm and focused in stressful situations. Comfortable using computers and learning new systems quickly. Strong problem-solving skills. The type of person who would thrive here is someone friendly, organized, reliable, calm, good at juggling multiple priorities, enjoys customer service, and is comfortable communicating via phone, email, and text. It also helps if you know the area and local traffic patterns.
