The Role As our Customer Service & Communications Coordinator , you'll be the friendly face at our front desk and the creative voice behind our community outreach. Your days will be a mix of customer interaction, public communication, and behind-the-scenes support.
What You'll Do Customer Service:
Greet visitors, customers, and vendors, ensuring a professional and friendly first impression Answer phone calls and emails, and direct inquiries related to utility services, billing, emergencies, and other district related items as necessary. Assist customers with service requests, rates, payment options, and utility policies Process customer payments accurately and efficiently Address and resolve customer feedback and concerns promptly through various communication channels, and directing to appropriate channels.
Communications & Outreach:
Develop and distribute utility-related communications (newsletters, press releases, billing notifications, and system alerts) Coordinate with departments to ensure timely and accurate communication during service disruptions, emergencies, or scheduled maintenance Provide support for public outreach, community engagement programs, meetings, and workshops focused on water conservation and safety Assist with the creation and distribution of communication materials (brochures, flyers, pamphlets) and support public awareness campaigns, events, and initiatives that promote environmental responsibility and conservation. Coordinate updates and contribute content for the utility's social media platforms and website, ensuring it is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with organizational goals Draft and edit public statements, reports, and other communications for both internal and external audiences
Administrative Support:
Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings, maintaining the company calendar, managing mail and packages Order Office & Operating Supplies Assist with customer account audits and generate maps for distribution during scheduled or emergency situations Maintains and updates the organization's phone tree to ensure calls are directed to the appropriate staff or department Participate in Safety Committee Rotations as part of the District's Safety Program Other Administrative duties as assigned.
