Hours Per Week Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-4:30

Retirement plan available after one year of employment Position Summary Southern Monument Studio is seeking a dependable, compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented Inside Monument Sales Representative to join our team. This position combines customer service, monument sales, and general office responsibilities. You will work directly with families to help them select and design meaningful memorials for their loved ones while also helping keep the day-to-day operations of our office running smoothly. Because many of our customers are grieving, this position requires someone who is patient, compassionate, professional, and comfortable helping families make important decisions during a difficult time. Day-to-Day Responsibilities The Inside Monument Sales Representative will be responsible for:
  • Answering incoming telephone calls professionally and assisting customers with questions and inquiries.
  • Greeting families and customers as they enter the office and providing friendly, compassionate service.
  • Assisting families with selecting monuments, markers, benches, granite colors, sizes, finishes, lettering, designs, and accessories.
  • Explaining available memorial options and helping customers select products that meet their needs, cemetery requirements, and budget.
  • Preparing quotes and explaining pricing, deposits, payment requirements, and estimated timelines.
  • Gathering accurate information for monument orders, including names, dates, inscriptions, artwork, cemetery information, and placement details.
  • Assisting customers with monument layouts and design selections.
  • Reviewing monument proofs with customers and obtaining approval before production.
  • Carefully verifying spelling, names, dates, measurements, granite colors, designs, and other order information.
  • Processing customer paperwork, sales orders, payments, deposits, and other necessary documentation.
  • Entering and maintaining accurate customer information, quotes, orders, payments, and notes.
  • Following up with prospective customers regarding quotes, selections, paperwork, and design approvals.
  • Maintaining communication with customers throughout the ordering and production process.
  • Communicating with cemeteries when necessary regarding monument regulations, permits, size restrictions, and installation requirements.
  • Coordinating with the office, design, production, and installation teams to help ensure orders are completed correctly.
  • Assisting management with administrative tasks and other duties as needed.
  • Assisting the Foreman with paperwork, scheduling, customer information, work orders, and other needs related to production and installation.
  • Keeping the office, showroom, work areas, product samples, catalogs, and sales materials neat, clean, organized, and presentable.
  • Helping resolve customer questions or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Performing additional office, customer service, and sales duties as needed. Qualifications & Requirements
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Gmail, and general computer use.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Professional and courteous telephone skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately review names, dates, inscriptions, measurements, and other important information.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple customers, orders, and responsibilities at the same time.
  • Comfortable discussing pricing, preparing quotes, and helping customers complete a purchase.
  • Ability to learn monument design, quoting, and order-processing systems.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
  • Willingness to assist management, the Foreman, and other team members when needed.
  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, office administration, funeral service, cemetery service, or the monument industry is preferred but not required.

Names, dates, inscriptions, measurements, granite selections, and designs must be carefully reviewed before production. Organized — You will be responsible for keeping track of customers, quotes, paperwork, approvals, and orders at different stages of completion. Sales-Minded Without Being Pushy — Our goal is to help families find the right memorial for their needs and budget while providing excellent service. Dependable — Our customers and team members need someone who follows through, returns calls, completes paperwork, and handles responsibilities without constant supervision. A Team Player — This is a small-business environment where everyone works together. You should be willing to assist management, the Foreman, and other team members when needed. Compensation & Benefits
  • Starting pay of $15.00
  • 17.00 per hour, depending on experience.
  • 40-hour work week.
  • Monday-Friday schedule, 8:30 AM-4:30 PM.
