Marine Connection, South Florida's leading dealer for new boats, is seeking a qualified Service Manager to join our award-winning team at our Stuart location.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a professional, high-energy, and organized Service Manager/ Writer to join our team in Stuart. As the primary point of contact for our service department, you will bridge the gap between our clients and our service technicians. You will be responsible for greeting customers, diagnosing their initial service needs, creating accurate work orders, and maintaining clear, proactive communication throughout the repair or maintenance process. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at customer service, and has a strong understanding of marine systems (specifically center console boats and outboard power).Job Duties:
Serve as first line of contact and communication link between customer and dealership during the service process.- Schedule service work appropriately.
- Track job status and progress.
- Communicate proactively with customers and return phone calls and emails promptly.
- Returning phone calls and e-mails promptly
- Dispatching tickets to appropriate techs
- Creating and updating work orders with proper documentation
- Performing walkarounds with service customers
- Generating work orders, reviewing with customer and obtaining authorization signature
- Setting and updating estimates with documentation
- Suggesting additional service and parts
- Explaining work to the customers
- Ensuring the parts are available for the jobs prior to dispatch
- Ensuring the work is approved
- Tracking open work orders on a Dealer Management Software
- Setting call-back times with customers
- Follow up with techs on progress
- Hold technicians accountable for providing needed documentation to submit warranty claims and close repairs order.
- Follow up with customers on progress
- Communication with Sales
- Knowledge of available hours in shop
- Pre-selling additional work proactively
- Performing work order audits to quality check all lines addressed, pricing accurate, parts and sublets billed, etc..
- 'Pre-deliver' closed work orders over the phone and answer all questions
- Follow up with customers on future work
- Developing loyalty to customers
- Create loyalty out of conflicts
- Always act in a courteous and professional manner
