Job Overview Kia Dealership - Service Department Full-Time | Automotive Dealership Experience Preferred We are looking for an energetic, organized, and customer-focused Assistant Service Manager / Service Lane Manager to join our Kia Service Department.
This position will work closely with our Service Manager and Fixed Operations leadership to oversee the daily operation of the service drive, support our Service Advisors, and ensure that every customer receives a professional, efficient, and positive experience.
This is a hands-on leadership position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable being on the service drive, interacting with customers, coaching advisors, solving problems, and helping keep the department moving.
Primary Responsibilities Assist the Service Manager with the daily operation of the Service Department. Oversee the service drive and help maintain an organized, efficient customer flow. Support, coach, and hold Service Advisors accountable for dealership processes and performance expectations. Help manage customer concerns and resolve issues before they escalate. Ensure customers are greeted promptly and kept informed throughout the repair process. Monitor repair orders for proper documentation, recommendations, approvals, and follow-up. Help improve customer satisfaction and Kia survey/CSI performance. Work closely with technicians, the shop foreman, parts department, BDC, and management to keep vehicles moving through the shop. Monitor advisor productivity, sales performance, effective labor rate, maintenance recommendations, and other key service metrics. Help manage appointment volume, work-in-process, carryovers, and vehicle delivery. Ensure advisors are following proper active-delivery and customer follow-up processes. Assist with training and developing Service Advisors and other service-drive employees. Step in wherever necessary to help the department and our customers. Assist the Service Manager with additional operational and administrative responsibilities as needed. What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate will: Have previous automotive dealership service experience. Have Service Advisor, Lane Manager, Assistant Service Manager, or similar experience. Be a strong communicator with excellent customer-service skills. Be comfortable coaching employees and holding a team accountable. Be organized and able to handle a fast-paced service environment. Understand dealership service operations, repair orders, customer-pay and warranty processes, and service-drive workflow. Have a strong understanding of CSI/customer satisfaction and the importance of the manufacturer survey process. Be comfortable reviewing numbers and working toward departmental goals. Be dependable, professional, positive, and willing to lead from the front. Have Kia or other manufacturer dealership experience as a plus, but it is not required.
