In person / field-based This is a working management position . It is not a desk-only leadership role. You will spend a significant portion of your week in the field running service calls, selling work, troubleshooting difficult jobs, supporting technicians, and inspecting workmanship while also leading the service department. Position Summary Boswell Electric is looking for an experienced electrician who is ready to do more than run calls. We need a leader who can produce, coach, solve problems, hold people accountable, and raise the standard of the entire field team. The right person is technically strong, comfortable with customers and sales, calm under pressure, organized, coachable, and willing to take ownership when something goes wrong. You will be responsible for helping our technicians succeed while protecting the customer experience, job quality, schedule, profitability, and reputation of Boswell Electric. Working Service Manager:
Keeps technicians productive, supported, trained, and accountable. Runs and sells service work personally while helping the department grow. Addresses callbacks, complaints, failed inspections, delays, and workmanship concerns quickly. Coaches technicians instead of simply fixing their problems for them. Ensures work is safe, code-compliant, clean, documented, and completed correctly. Holds the same standard for every team member. Tracks performance and uses real numbers instead of assumptions. Communicates problems early and brings solutions instead of excuses. Protects the trust Boswell Electric has built with its customers. Objectives You will be expected to: Perform residential and commercial electrical service and troubleshooting. Diagnose problems and present customers with legitimate, clearly explained solutions. Provide estimates and sell appropriate electrical work without high-pressure tactics. Support technicians with technical questions and difficult service calls. Conduct ride-alongs, job checks, coaching, and field training. Inspect workmanship and correct performance issues. Manage callbacks and customer escalations. Help control routing, job progress, delays, materials, and field obstacles. Review technician performance and departmental scorecards. Enforce Boswell Electric procedures and operating standards. Ensure jobs are properly documented and closed out. Help develop technicians into stronger electricians, communicators, and service professionals. Communicate clearly with office leadership and ownership about department performance and problems. Workmanship — You care about details and expect work your team would be proud to install in their own homes. Education and Experience Strong candidates will have: Experience with Service Titan Significant hands-on electrical service experience. Strong residential troubleshooting and service knowledge. Experience estimating and selling electrical work. Previous leadership, field supervision, service management, or foreman experience. Working knowledge of electrical codes and safe work practices. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience coaching or developing other electricians. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Electrical licensing and advanced industry credentials are strongly valued. Boswell Total Rewards Depending on position requirements and eligibility, compensation and support may include: $40,000 annual management salary. Production-based commission opportunity. Physical Requirements This is an active electrical field position and may require standing, walking, climbing ladders, entering attics or crawlspaces, lifting electrical materials and equipment, working outdoors, and performing normal physical duties associated with residential and commercial electrical service.
