Job Description:
Join the Department of Residence team at Iowa State University and play an important role in helping students feel at home on campus. We are seeking an organized, customer-focused professional to serve as a Customer Experience Coordinator (Customer Relations Coordinator III), supporting campus life that impacts thousands of students each year. This position combines customer service, administrative coordination, problem-solving, and operational support to help students navigate their residential experience. The role supports housing assignments, applications, contracts, dining information, student inquiries, and departmental processes while serving as a key point of contact for students, families, and campus partners. Example of Duties Serve as part of the Administrative Services team, acting as the primary point of contact for the Department of Residence. Respond to student, family, and public inquiries via phone, email, and in person in a timely, professional, and customer-focused manner. Provide accurate information regarding housing, dining, academics, student accounts, financial aid, campus services, and student life. Assist students with housing applications, contracts, and related administrative processes. Provide dining information, recommendations, and guidance to meet customer needs. Explain departmental policies, procedures, services, and available options. Assess customer needs and make appropriate referrals to campus resources and support services. Build and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and campus partners through effective communication and follow-up. Collaborate with internal departments to resolve customer concerns and ensure seamless service delivery. Maintain a high standard of customer care while supporting departmental and university goals. Participate in orientations, outreach programs, recruitment events, and training activities to support student engagement and departmental initiatives. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in on-campus housing, residential life, or property management. Experience using campus housing or property management software, preferably StarRez Housing. Experience providing customer service, customer relationship management, or administrative support. Experience responding to customer inquiries, resolving concerns, and delivering service in a professional, customer-focused manner. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
