Full-Time | Direct Hire | On-Site Position Overview Summit Staffing is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations & Customer Service Supervisor for a growing third-party logistics operation in Bolingbrook, IL. This is a key leadership position requiring a strong combination of hands-on warehouse operations experience and customer service/account management skills within logistics, distribution, or 3PL environments . The successful candidate will help lead day-to-day warehouse operations while serving as an important connection between the warehouse, customer service team, management, and customers. You'll need to understand warehouse operations from the floor up while also being comfortable handling customer escalations, resolving inventory and order discrepancies, and ensuring service commitments are met . We're looking for a visible, hands-on leader who can bring structure, accountability, urgency, and operational discipline to a fast-moving environment. Key Responsibilities Lead daily warehouse operations including receiving, putaway, inventory, replenishment, picking, staging, and shipping . Supervise and provide direction to approximately 20 warehouse employees , including leads and material-handling personnel. Establish daily priorities and labor assignments based on workload and customer requirements. Set clear expectations around productivity, accuracy, attendance, safety, and accountability . Coach employees, address performance issues, and maintain a professional and productive warehouse culture. Serve as an operational point of contact for customers regarding inventory, orders, shortages, damages, shipping discrepancies, and service issues . Work closely with the customer service team to investigate and resolve escalated customer issues. Understand and execute individual customer requirements, SOPs, priorities, and service expectations. Maintain inventory accuracy and investigate discrepancies to determine root causes and corrective actions. Ensure proper use of WMS and RF/barcode scanning systems for inventory and warehouse transactions. Coordinate shipping and transportation requirements with internal teams. Maintain safe, organized warehouse operations and coordinate equipment or facility maintenance when necessary. Identify operational bottlenecks and implement improvements to productivity, accuracy, workflow, and customer service. The position is responsible for both physical warehouse execution and resolving customer-specific operational issues, including shortages, damages, inventory discrepancies, and service failures. What We're Looking For Strong experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or 3PL operations . Proven warehouse supervisory or management experience. Strong combination of warehouse operations AND customer-facing/customer service experience . Multi-client 3PL experience strongly preferred . Experience managing warehouse employees and daily staffing requirements. Strong knowledge of receiving, inventory control, picking, shipping, and material handling. Experience with WMS systems and RF/barcode-driven warehouse operations . Experience investigating and resolving inventory, order, and shipping discrepancies. Comfortable communicating directly with customers regarding operational issues and service requirements. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills. Forklift/material-handling knowledge and willingness to work directly on the warehouse floor. Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple customer accounts. The position requires substantial hands-on warehouse knowledge, WMS/inventory experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate effectively on the warehouse floor. Ideal Candidate The strongest candidate will likely come from a 3PL, distribution, fulfillment, consumer products, food, metals, or similar logistics environment . More important than a specific industry is the ability to manage both sides of the operation :

People, inventory, receiving, shipping, WMS, productivity and safety.

Customer:

Communication, escalations, discrepancies, changing priorities and service expectations. We're looking for someone who can talk to the customer when something goes wrong, walk onto the warehouse floor to determine why it happened, and lead the team through fixing it. Compensation $65,000-$80,000 annually, based on experience Compensation flexibility is available for candidates who bring a particularly strong combination of 3PL warehouse leadership and customer-facing logistics experience .
