Job Description

Account Manager - Customer Service & Operations MAVPAK Inc. | Fishers, Indiana | Fully onsite $65,000-$85,000 per year, plus variable compensation of up to 20% Be the person your customers know they can count on. You take pride in getting the details right. You follow through without being reminded. When a customer has a problem, you take ownership, find the answer, and stay with it until it is resolved. You're comfortable managing a busy inbox, multiple orders, changing priorities, and a steady flow of customer requests. You don't see that activity as chaos—you see opportunities to serve customers, solve problems, and keep things moving. You build real relationships with customers. You learn their businesses, remember the details, anticipate what they will need, and make it easy for them to work with you. If that sounds like work you would be proud to own, you may be exactly who we're looking for. The Role MAVPAK supplies packaging materials, equipment, and services to companies that manufacture, store, and ship products. Every customer is supported by a two-person team: An outside Account Executive who works directly with customers in the field An Account Manager—you—who leads the day-to-day relationship and makes sure everything gets done inside MAVPAK Your Account Executive has your back in the field, and you have theirs inside the company. You communicate constantly, solve problems together, and share responsibility for delivering an exceptional customer experience. This is more than an order-entry position. You will own the daily operation of your accounts—from the moment an order arrives until it is delivered successfully. What You'll Own Receive, enter, confirm, and review customer orders to make sure every detail is correct Collect purchase orders and other required approvals, then follow through until everything is complete Track open orders from entry through delivery Communicate proactively with customers about order status, lead times, changes, and potential problems Work with our purchasing team, warehouse, suppliers, and freight carriers to keep orders moving Respond quickly when a customer has an urgent need, delayed shipment, inventory concern, or other problem Maintain accurate customer, product, pricing, contact, and inventory information Learn each customer's business, preferences, priorities, and busy seasons Identify potential issues before they become customer problems Participate in customer business reviews and bring ideas for improving service Partner closely with your Account Executive to retain and grow your accounts A Normal Tuesday You begin in your inbox: customer questions, new orders, requests for updates, and a few things that need immediate attention. You check in with your Account Executive. You know where they are going, what they need from you, and what you need from them. Next, you review your open orders. If something is running late, you don't wait for the customer to discover it. You find out what happened, determine what can be done, and communicate a clear plan. When a shipment gets stuck or a customer is in a bind, you bring the right people together and help solve it. Throughout the day, you enter orders, confirm deliveries, follow up on approvals, answer questions, and keep customer records accurate. Before leaving, you review your priorities and prepare for tomorrow. Your customers know where things stand, your Account Executive knows what is happening, and the important details have not been left to chance. You'll Be Successful Here If You Take complete ownership of your work and follow through without being chased Care deeply about getting details right Communicate clearly, professionally, and proactively Stay calm and organized while managing a high volume of activity Enjoy building long-term customer relationships Ask good questions and work to understand the full situation Make sound decisions and know when to involve others Look for solutions instead of simply reporting problems Treat urgency as part of serving the customer Work well with salespeople, warehouse employees, suppliers, and other internal teams Want accountability, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a visible difference What You Bring Experience in customer service, account management, inside sales support, order management, or a similar customer-facing role Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent organization, accuracy, and attention to detail Confidence managing customer expectations and resolving problems Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft 365 applications A bachelor's degree or equivalent real-world business experience Experience in distribution, manufacturing, logistics, packaging, or another business-to-business environment is helpful but not required You do not need packaging experience.
