Job Description
Larry J. Bakker launched Landscape Design Services in 1968 at the same location where it remains today between Holland and Grand Haven. At the time, Larry was working out of his home with just one employee and a truck. Since then, the business has grown to become the largest full-service landscape company in West Michigan, with 190 professionals delivering landscape architecture, construction, and maintenance services at an exceptional level. We are seeking an experienced Account Manager - Client Service Professional to serve as the primary point of contact for our landscape and winter maintenance clients. This is a relationship-driven role for someone who can grow a book of business through proposals and personal networking, deliver excellent client service, and act as a trusted liaison between our clients and field operations teams. What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary point of contact for landscape and winter maintenance clients, acting as a liaison to our operations teams.
- Respond to daily client and prospect communication, orders, requests, and complaints promptly.
- Develop and present maintenance and enhancement proposals to current and prospective clients in a timely manner.
- Spot check projects to assure continued client confidence, and schedule work while familiarizing coordinators and crews with new projects.
- Participate in weekly maintenance scheduling and review meetings, and attend maintenance group operations meetings.
- Propose solutions to issues on client properties, and meet with clients to recommend landscape solutions.
- Strengthen client relationships through our Client Engagement Strategy — regular communication, periodic site visits, and follow-up reports.
- Market Landscape Design Services and our maintenance services through personal networking and various events, and support broader company marketing efforts.
- Develop and maintain a contracted book of business while identifying new opportunities and enhancements for existing clients.
- Work as a team with the other Client Service Professionals to meet and exceed group goals.
- Invoice clients monthly, or more frequently as work is completed, and monitor projects for efficiency and profitability. What You'll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A two-year program or bachelor's degree with horticultural experience or education preferred.
- Previous sales or client service experience.
- Good verbal, written, and organizational skills.
- Problem resolution skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients under pressure.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications
- CGIP or other industry certification.
- Horticulture coursework or training.
- Bilingual communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Regular travel to client properties and job sites to conduct inspections and consultations.
- Ability to walk properties in varying outdoor conditions and terrain.
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle for client and site visits.
- Communicate clearly and read/interpret proposals, contracts, and site plans.
