As a Shop Service Coordinator at Independent Electric, you'll play a vital role in our dynamic operations team. This role goes beyond logistics—it's about delivering a seamless, customer-centered experience and keeping our shop operations running efficiently. If you're an organized multitasker with a passion for problem-solving and excellent communication skills, this is the position for you!What You'll Do:
Customer-Focused Coordination Serve as the primary contact for our customers, ensuring a positive experience at every step. Provide estimates and quotes for repair and service jobs and ensure clear communication on job status and timelines. Collaborate with customers to assess the feasibility of repairs, keeping them informed and involved. Operational Flow Management Oversee the intake, scheduling, and dispatching of customer work orders, maintaining an orderly workflow for all shop services. Act as the liaison between shop sections, coordinating job schedules, resolving delays, and ensuring on-time delivery. Work closely with the Shop Operations Manager and team supervisors to support smooth and timely operations. Inventory & Procurement Manage the ordering of essential materials, tools, and supplies, ensuring they're available when needed. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to secure the best options for shop repair materials and subcontractor services. Documentation & Reporting Keep accurate records by writing work orders, tracking job statuses, and maintaining organized digital and manual files. Provide regular updates to management, including a weekly report of the work order backlog. Safety & Compliance Participate in training to stay updated on products, safety, and job knowledge. Adhere to safety protocols when handling equipment and materials, including lifting, operating a forklift, and handling hoists and cranes. Additional Support Collaborate with the Assistant Shop Coordinator/Warehouse team for warehouse tasks as needed.Qualifications:
Experience:
2+ years in customer service or coordination roles, ideally in a shop, repair, or service environment.Technical Skills:
Experience with estimating, quoting, and scheduling; comfort with tools and software for tracking workflows.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 70 pounds and operate shop equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes.Interpersonal Skills:
Strong communicator, problem solver, and team player with a focus on delivering excellent service.Job Type:
