Job Description

Join a Team That Makes a Difference TruWay Staffing Services is recruiting on behalf of a client in Durham, NC seeking an experienced Qualified Professional (QP) to support individuals with I/DD, mental health, and behavioral health needs. This role is best suited for a confident, organized, and knowledgeable QP who can step into the position with little to no training. The ideal candidate understands North Carolina QP requirements, service coordination, documentation, Person-Centered Planning, Medicaid compliance, and working with individuals, families, guardians, and support teams. The QP will play a key role in coordinating services, supporting clients and families, maintaining compliance, reviewing documentation, and helping individuals achieve their personal goals and highest quality of life. Key ResponsibilitiesClient Intake & Service Coordination Coordinate new client admissions and intake processes. Obtain and review Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and required authorizations. Schedule intake appointments and support timely service implementation. Maintain accurate client records and service documentation. Monitor service needs, deadlines, and required follow-up. Family & Client Support Build positive relationships with clients, families, guardians, and care teams. Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned caseloads. Participate in ISP meetings and ongoing service planning. Monitor client progress and maintain regular communication with families. Advocate for appropriate services, supports, and resources. Care Planning & Compliance Assist with the development and revision of Person-Centered Plans (PCPs) and Individual Service Plans (ISPs). Support authorization renewals and service continuity. Ensure documentation meets agency, Medicaid, and regulatory requirements. Review staff documentation and address deficiencies as needed. Support compliance with agency policies, service definitions, and quality standards. Community Collaboration Coordinate with healthcare providers, schools, social service agencies, and community organizations. Assist families with accessing resources, benefits, educational programs, and community supports. Support transition planning and guardianship-related needs when appropriate. Communicate professionally with external providers and support partners. Administrative Leadership Monitor service authorizations, documentation deadlines, and critical due dates. Maintain scheduling and documentation systems. Ensure records are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner. Support organizational compliance and quality assurance initiatives. Provide guidance and support to staff when needed. Qualifications Candidates must meet North Carolina Qualified Professional (QP) eligibility requirements. Qualified applicants may meet one of the following pathways: Master's degree in a Human Services field with at least 1 year of supervised experience. Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field with at least 2 years of supervised experience. Bachelor's degree in a non-Human Services field with at least 4 years of supervised experience. Associate degree in Social and Human Services with at least 2 years of related experience.
Additional requirements:
Experience supporting individuals with I/DD, mental health, or behavioral health needs. Strong understanding of service coordination, documentation, and compliance expectations. Experience with PCPs, ISPs, authorizations, and Medicaid documentation preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organization, follow-up, and time management skills. Ability to work independently with limited training. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: Experienced as a QP in North Carolina. Comfortable managing documentation and compliance expectations. Able to work independently and take initiative. Professional when communicating with families, guardians, staff, and community partners. Detail-oriented and able to manage deadlines. Passionate about supporting individuals with I/DD and mental health needs.
