Budtenders play an important role in creating a welcoming, educational, and compliant customer experience while supporting the daily operations of the dispensary. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping people, thrive in fast-paced retail environments, and are interested in long-term growth opportunities within the cannabis industry. Benefits & Perks Competitive pay Health, dental, and vision insurance Supplemental insurance options, including accident and disability coverage Paid time off (PTO) Sick Leave (HWA Compliant) 30% employee discount on products and merchandise Ongoing training and development Opportunities for career advancement and internal promotion Supportive workplace culture with professional leadership & human resources infrastructure Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Product Sales Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner Educate customers on cannabis products, effects, dosage, and responsible use Help customers select products that best fit their needs and preferences Deliver a high-level customer experience focused on service, education, and retention Assist with front desk check-in procedures and customer verification Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently Product Knowledge & Education Stay informed on cannabis products, strains, concentrates, edibles, tinctures, topicals, and accessories Maintain knowledge of New Mexico cannabis regulations and compliance standards Participate in ongoing product education and company training programs Support a culture of responsible cannabis education and customer care Sales & POS Transactions Process sales accurately using the dispensary POS system Handle cash and electronic transactions responsibly Verify customer identification and eligibility in compliance with New Mexico regulations Support store sales goals, customer retention initiatives, and loyalty programs Compliance, Inventory & Store Operations Adhere to all state and local cannabis regulations and company SOPs Maintain a clean, organized, and professional dispensary environment Assist with inventory counts, product restocking, and daily operational tasks Support safety, compliance, and loss prevention standards Team Collaboration & Culture Work collaboratively with team members and leadership Participate in staff meetings, coaching sessions, and training programs Contribute to a positive, respectful, and professional workplace culture Support company events, promotions, and community engagement initiatives as needed Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age High school diploma or equivalent required Previous retail, customer service, hospitality, or cash handling experience preferred Cannabis industry experience is preferred, but we are willing to train strong candidates Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Passion for customer service, education, and professional growth Growth & Development Opportunities Urban Wellness is committed to promoting from within whenever possible.
