The Opportunity An established regional distributor serving the building-services trades is seeking an experienced Location Manager to lead and develop the team at its Auburn operation. People management is at the heart of this role—setting clear expectations, coaching employees, building teamwork, and creating an environment where people have the support and accountability they need to succeed. The successful candidate will be an approachable, engaged leader who takes an active interest in employee development and addresses performance concerns promptly and fairly. This position is responsible for achieving strong customer service, sales, and operational results through effective leadership of the location's sales, service, and warehouse teams. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and support employees across sales, customer service, warehouse, and daily operations. Set clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations so employees understand how their work contributes to the location's success. Provide regular feedback, recognize strong performance, and address performance or conduct concerns consistently and professionally. Recruit, onboard, train, and retain employees, identifying opportunities to strengthen skills and prepare team members for additional responsibility. Build a culture of respect, open communication, teamwork, and accountability across all functions. Maintain a visible, approachable presence throughout the location, listening to employee concerns and helping the team resolve daily challenges. Coordinate staffing, schedules, and workloads to support efficient operations and dependable customer service. Resolve employee conflicts and customer concerns using sound judgment, timely communication, and appropriate follow-through. Guide the team in strengthening customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and maintaining service standards. Manage the location's financial and operational performance, including profit and loss, loss prevention, and operating results. Qualifications Demonstrated success directly supervising employees and managing team performance. Proven ability to coach, develop, motivate, and retain employees with varying levels of experience. Experience setting expectations, providing constructive feedback, and handling difficult conversations with professionalism and fairness. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening, conflict resolution, and clear direction. An approachable, consistent leadership style that builds trust and reinforces accountability. Experience leading teams in a warehouse, distribution, sales, or customer service environment, with an understanding of how these functions work together. Ability to delegate effectively, prioritize workloads, and follow through on commitments. Sound business judgment and experience managing financial performance, including P&L responsibility, sales growth, and loss prevention. Pay:
$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
