Job Description

Title:
BDC Manager Department:
Automotive Service Job Purpose Oversee the successful daily and long term operation of the Business Development Center. Hiring Specifications Strong interpersonal and communication skills; professional appearance. Process oriented with a passion for detail. Excellent customer contact skills and customer service orientation. Ability to motivate, mentor and cultivate staff. Working knowledge or trainable in automotive retail center computer systems, (R/R computer system preferred, as well as proficiency in the use of Excel and Word programs) Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously Working Relationship Reports to the Service Manager and Dealer Operator. Work cooperatively and effectively with all departments and employees.
Administrative / Managerial
Responsibilities Hires and manages all BDC staff Manages the BDC's workflow and utilization of staff time Regular reviews of BDC staff performance Works extensively with Sales and Service managers to determine/coordinate marketing campaigns and advertising programs, then execute these programs within the BDC Engage in multiple daily meetings with all managers at the center to share progress and ensure the work is on track with the needs of the center Prepares the Dealership monthly newsletter. Complaint Management Complaints are received by the BDC and escalated to the BDC Manager. BDC Manager then either resolves the issue or escalates it to the Sales or Service manager (depending on the situation) Quality Assurance Ensure that quality guidelines are understood and adhered to within the BDC Conduct regular mystery shops (competitive within brand and outside brand) to understand how to improve current BDC activities/processes and improve the center's premium brand experience Marketing Generates outbound phone and mail marketing campaigns Other activities to generate business (contact lists) for coordinators to conduct daily sales and service calls and mailings Analytics Tracking and monitoring of BDC activity to identify trends, head off potential issues and capitalize on short term and long term opportunities Development Look for and develop areas in which the BDC can further support the dealership operations. Logistical Responsibilities Maintain safe, neat, and clean work areas. Make sure the physical environment is pleasing to employees and management. Ongoing Responsibilities Dependability.
