Mid-Market Renewal Consultant Location:

Remote (Atlanta, GA; Plano/Dallas, TX; or Charlotte, NC)

Role Type:

Contract (approx. 3 months initial term, with potential for extension based on business needs and performance) About Our Client Our client is a leading provider of financial and business management software, helping small and mid-sized businesses and their advisors manage accounting, payroll, taxes, and other core operations. The company serves millions of customers and operates across multiple locations. Its mission centers on powering prosperity for the businesses and communities it serves, and its mid-market product suite helps growing companies scale their financial operations with confidence. Job Description The Mid-Market Renewal Consultant is a customer-facing, commercially focused role responsible for protecting and growing an existing base of mid-market customers on our client's Enterprise Suite platform. Rather than simply processing renewal paperwork, this person will own a full book of business and proactively engage customers throughout their renewal lifecycle, managing roughly 40-50 renewals per month across a rolling three-month renewal cycle. Day to day, the Renewal Consultant leads commercial conversations from start to finish: initiating renewal discussions, negotiating contract terms and pricing, handling objections, mitigating retention risk, and identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts. The role has a direct impact on customer retention and revenue growth, and requires confidence navigating sales conversations as well as a genuine focus on long-term customer value. This person will collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, and other internal teams to resolve customer needs and ensure a unified approach to customer success, escalating complex issues where needed. The ideal candidate is someone energized by commercial ownership of a book of business, comfortable with evolving tools and processes, and passionate about building trusted, long-term customer relationships. Duties and Responsibilities Renewal Management Own the full renewal cycle for an assigned book of business, from initial customer outreach through contract close. Proactively engage customers ahead of upcoming renewals and manage roughly 40-50 renewals per month. Address customer questions and concerns throughout the renewal process to ensure renewals close smoothly and on time. Independently drive positive commercial outcomes for both the customer and the business. Upsell & Cross-Sell Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing customer accounts. Actively listen to customer needs and challenges, and recommend additional products, services, or upgrades. Recognize buying signals and connect customer needs to relevant solutions. Sales, Negotiation & Problem Solving Lead commercial and contract negotiation discussions, including pricing, to secure renewals. Clearly articulate and position the value of our client's products and services. Handle objections and guide customers toward mutually beneficial outcomes. Identify and resolve retention risks or obstacles that could impact a successful renewal. Customer Relationship Management Build strong relationships with customers, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic liaison. Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction and long-term relationship development. Communicate customer needs and feedback to internal teams in a timely, comprehensive way. Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as the primary link between customers and internal teams, including Sales, Customer Success, and other supporting teams. Route and escalate complex customer needs to the appropriate internal partners. Collaborate across teams to provide a unified, efficient approach to customer success. Required Experience/Skills 2-5 years of experience in Renewals, Account Management, Inside Sales, or a similar B2B customer-facing sales role. B2B experience is critical; SaaS or software experience is strongly preferred. Proven track record of owning a book of business and retaining/growing customer accounts. Experience with annual contracts, contract negotiation, and renewal or retention management.

Strong sales acumen:

positioning value, identifying buying signals, handling objections, and guiding customers to mutually beneficial outcomes. Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills. Proficiency in Salesforce is required. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of tasks and deadlines while staying focused on individual customer needs. Ability to take initiative, work independently, and collaborate effectively with internal teams. Comfortable operating in an environment where processes, tools, and strategies continue to evolve. Customer Success backgrounds are welcome if commercially focused (owning renewals, retention, expansion, and contract negotiation); traditional support-only CSM experience is not the right fit for this role. Nice-to-Haves Experience within a B2B, SaaS, or technology environment. Experience with call intelligence platforms such as Gong or similar tools. Experience with scaled outreach tools. Experience with account management or CRM systems beyond Salesforce. Pay & Benefits Summary Pay rate: $32.67/hour.
