CITY OF SHELBYVILLE, TENNESSEE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISOR - FULL TIME DEFINITION
The employee is under the supervision of the Assistant Director and Director. Directions are usually general and independent judgment is needed to complete tasks. The employee is responsible for the supervision of part-time and full-time staff, and operation of the front desk area of the recreation facility. Duties included but are not limited to: answering inquiries from the public, operating a computer system for various uses, issuing daily/yearly passes, making facility reservations, booking rentals, taking registrations, collecting money, issuing receipts, making staff schedules, building supervision, customer service, training of staff. The employee will perform other duties as deemed necessary.BENEFITS
This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of $21.47 per hour. The City currently provides the following for full-time employees: 100% City paid individual medical, dental & vision insurance benefits. Long-term disability insurance, City paid life insurance, various paid leaves such as vacation, personal, sick, bereavement and holidays as well as City contributions to the 401k.EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION
The employee will primarily work indoors at the recreation facility. The employee will operate telephones, copy machines, calculators, and other modern office equipment. The employee will operate a computer/ID system that will handle many aspects of the daily operation of a recreation facility. Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, and walking is required. The employee will operate/monitor the security system for the recreation facility. The employee may be exposed to loud noises.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.- Requires light physical effort working almost exclusively with lightweight materials (up to 25 pounds).
- Physical activities include, but are not limited to walking, talking, stooping, kneeling, light lifting, bending, handling, grasping, reaching, typing, and gripping. Must be able to utilize a three-step ladder safely.
- Also includes the necessity to communicate by talking, hearing/listening.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus, for operation of machines and equipment, to determine accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observation of general surroundings.
