Job Description
Parts & Service Manager Eau Claire Truck & Trailer Repair — Eau Claire, WI Position Summary Eau Claire Truck & Trailer Repair is seeking an experienced, motivated, and customer-focused Parts & Service Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our parts and service departments. This position is responsible for overseeing the complete service process; from customer intake and estimating through parts sourcing, technician workflow, repair completion, invoicing, and customer follow-up. The Parts & Service Manager will play a key role in driving department profitability, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction, supporting technicians, and ensuring repairs are completed efficiently and professionally. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with experience in commercial truck and trailer repair, fleet service, automotive/heavy-duty parts, or a related industry . This person should be comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment, communicating with customers and technicians, managing priorities, and making sound business decisions. Key Responsibilities Service Department Management Oversee daily operations of the truck and trailer service department. Manage the flow of repair orders from initial customer contact through completion. Schedule and prioritize service work to maximize technician productivity and shop capacity. Monitor repair progress and communicate updates, delays, and additional repair needs to customers. Review estimates and repair orders for accuracy, completeness, and profitability. Approve and communicate additional work with customers before repairs are performed. Ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. Help resolve customer concerns and service issues professionally and promptly. Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial customers, fleets, and repeat accounts. Parts Management Oversee parts identification, sourcing, ordering, receiving, and distribution to technicians. Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and timely delivery. Ensure the correct parts are available when needed to minimize technician downtime. Monitor parts margins, purchasing practices, returns, warranties, and inventory levels. Develop strong vendor relationships and negotiate pricing when appropriate. Maintain accurate parts and service records. Qualifications Previous management or supervisory experience in a truck, trailer, automotive, heavy-duty equipment, fleet, or related repair environment preferred. Strong knowledge of heavy-duty truck and trailer parts and repair processes. Experience with service writing, estimating, parts procurement, or repair order management. Strong understanding of labor rates, parts pricing, margins, and repair profitability. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced shop environment. Strong computer skills and ability to learn and utilize shop management software. Ability to read and understand repair estimates, parts information, and technical documentation. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to work effectively in a hands-on repair shop environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with commercial trucking companies or fleet customers. Experience managing both parts and service operations . Familiarity with heavy-duty truck and trailer systems. Experience with preventative maintenance programs and fleet service. Existing relationships with parts suppliers and commercial fleet customers.
