GED Numeracy Full Job Description Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Furniture Cashier to join our retail team. The Cashier will be responsible for processing sales transactions, providing excellent customer service, and supporting general store operations in a furniture showroom or store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet customers warmly and assist them at the cash register. Accurately process sales transactions using a POS (Point of Sale) system. Handle various forms of payment including cash, credit/debit cards, and store gift cards. Issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges in accordance with company policies. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area. Answer customer inquiries related to pricing, promotions, financing, and delivery options. Assist in resolving customer complaints or direct them to the appropriate department. Support showroom staff with tasks such as tagging merchandise and light administrative duties. Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts. Follow all company policies regarding security and cash handling procedures.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous cashier or customer service experience, preferably in a retail or furniture environment. Strong attention to detail and basic math skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift small to medium packages if needed. Familiarity with POS systems and standard office software is a plus.

Work Schedule:

Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as needed.
