Customer Services :
Receives inquiries from customers, contractors, and other city departments by email, fax, phone, website chat, or web; researches and resolves routine billing, invoicing, financial inquiries and customer account issues with one call resolution; interviews customers requesting electric, recycling and/or sanitation services in order to establish new, transferred or cancel services; answers customer inquiries concerning services, products, billing, and equipment; assists customers in signing up for deferred billing, levelized billing, low income household tax exemption, medical and bank programs when appropriate; verifies customer account and active services using various databases and software applications; researches customer account information to explain services, charges, and adjustments; logs customer complaints, creates service orders, and routes to the appropriate department(s); maintains and files all generated service requests; may serve as relief Receptionist as needed. The employee uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments independently without specific instruction, but refers deviations, problems, and unfamiliar situations not covered by instructions to the supervisor for decision or help. The supervisor reviews some of the work, with more review of difficult or unfamiliar assignments.
