Job Description
Position Summary The Client Service Counselor (bilingual Spanish required) is responsible for the ongoing service and support of consumers enrolled in Debt Management Plans (DMPs). This position ensures that client accounts are maintained accurately, payments are processed correctly, and program requirements are met. Counselors will provide back-end support and communication with clients and creditors, ensuring smooth plan management and client satisfaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedule will vary from 8:00am
- 6:00pm and available on Saturday

Financial Education:
Educate clients on DMP processes, timelines and requirements.Compliance:
Adhere to federal, state and industry compliance standards, as well as organizational policies and procedures.Client support:
Build rapport and provide empathetic, compassionate support throughout the counseling process.Ongoing communication:
Follow up with clients via phone or email to provide continued support and maintain relationships.Record-keeping:
Maintain accurate records of client interactions and financial plans Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent customer service skills with the ability to solve problems and analyze the client's situation with empathy while developing an effective debt management strategy. Excellent verbal communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills. Ability to obtain required certifications by the end of 6 weeks of training. Ability to make or receive inbound/outbound calls and maintain a high level of quality and client satisfaction. Ability to collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality client service and program integrity. Ability to be receptive to ongoing feedback & improvement. Ability to be flexible, and dependable with a high level of professionalism. Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years in customer service; call center environment preferred. Experience with account services, billing or financial support preferred. Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred. Excellent time management, multi-tasking, communication and organizational skills. Proficient computer literacy and maintain client files and handle correspondence. Strong people skills with demonstrated ability to communicate and contribute to the organizational mission and values.Physical Demands and Work Environment Sitting:
Remain in a seated position for extended periods while performing duties like computer work.Mobility:
Occasionally stand and walk around the office or call center floor.Manual Dexterity:
Use hands for keyboarding, operating office equipment (like printers, fax machines, and phones), and other fine motor tasks.Vision:
Require close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus to see computer screens, documents, and other office equipment clearly.Lifting:
May occasionally need to lift or carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds, though this is not a primary function.Other:
