Job Description

Guest Services Representative
  • Seasonal/Temporary The Guest Services Representative is a seasonal/temporary position located at the Colorado River State Historic Park and/or the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park in Yuma, Arizona.
Reporting to the staff supervisor and/or park manager, the primary responsibilities of the Guest Services Representative include welcoming guests, facilitating park admission and gift shop sales, and performing routine cleaning, maintenance and landscaping duties. This position will be filled for an approximate seven
  • to•eight-month season between October 2026•May 2027.
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly pay rate range starts at $16.00/hour, paid biweekly. Status is non-exempt
  • subject to overtime pay.
Work schedule may range between 16-40 hours/week. Holiday pay following successful completion of a 30-day introductory period. Vacation leave and earned sick leave begins accruing upon hire. Use of leave may be requested following successful completion of a 60-day introductory period.
Required Qualifications & Working Environment:
High School diploma or GED is required; some higher-level education is desired. Must be at least 19 years of age. Possess and retain a valid driver's license. Pass a background check. Willing to work weekends, holidays, and some evenings. Work is performed indoors and outdoors on park grounds and in all weather conditions. May be required to bend, reach, stoop, and lift objects up to 30 pounds. Must obtain an AZ/Yuma County Food Handler's Certificate and Arizona Title 4 basic liquor law training certificate within two weeks of hire for positions at the Yuma Territorial Prison.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Welcomes guests, collects park admission fees, and facilitates gift shop sales utilizing the point-of-sale system. Balances point-of-sale system daily receipts following security procedures. Stocks and displays gift shop merchandise and promotes gift shop sales. Communicates Park information and history to visitors and may support interpretative tours. Works evenings and weekends to support special events and programs, including assisting with event set up and tear down. Cleans exhibits, signs, restrooms and park facilities adhering to sanitation techniques and practices. Empties trash and supports basic ground and facility maintenance. Reliably reports to work on time.

Ability to use point-of-sale system and handle cash and credit card transactions accurately. Promotes a positive environment, good personal behavior, and follows safety standards. Communicates effectively verbally and in writing. Possess basic computer operating skills. Follows and understands verbal and written instructions and procedures. Possess basic general maintenance and cleaning skills. Possess excellent organizational skills and has good attention to detail. Possess good time management skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of, or ability to learn, follow, and tactfully enforce Yuma County food handling and Arizona state liquor laws, rules, regulations, ordinances, practices and procedures. Knowledge of restaurant and bar equipment operation and maintenance. Experience creating, preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
