TEMPORARY FAIR CONCESSION HELP - KERN COUNTY FAIR

September 23 - October 4, 2026 Hello! We're looking for temporary help for the Kern County Fair! Work will be in our mobile food concession stands at the fairgrounds from September 23 through October 4, 2026 . We are a fast-paced food concession company that has been serving delicious food at California fairs for over 50 years. We're looking for friendly, reliable and motivated people to join our crew and help us serve lots of hungry fairgoers!

FAIR HOURS / AVAILABILITY

We need staff to help cover the following fair hours:

Monday-Thursday:

4:00 PM-11:00 PM Friday, September 25: 10:30 AM-11:00 PM Friday, October 2: 3:00 PM-11:00

PM Saturdays:

12:00 PM-11:00

PM Sundays:

12:00 PM-10:00 PM You will not be scheduled every day or for the fair's full operating hours. Shifts and schedules will vary based on staffing and business needs. We need the most help on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays , so weekend and evening availability is especially important. Please only apply if you are available to work at least 50% of the days listed . RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Greeting and helping customers Taking orders and operating a cash register Preparing and packing food and drink orders Keeping work areas clean, organized and stocked Assisting with food prep as needed General cleanup and closing duties Assisting in other areas as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is active concession work.

Applicants should be comfortable:

Standing for 6-8 hours or more during a shift Bending, squatting and reaching overhead Lifting up to 20 pounds Performing repetitive movements throughout the shift Working outdoors and in changing weather conditions Our cash registers are located at outside service counters, so you must be comfortable working outside.

REQUIREMENTS

Must be 18 or older Must be legally authorized to work Must have reliable transportation for all scheduled shifts. Must be dependable and able to arrive on time for scheduled shifts We provide employee passes for admission to the fairgrounds. Employees are responsible for their own transportation and parking. Cash register and/or food service experience is a huge plus, but we are happy to train motivated applicants. Fluent Spanish/English bilingual applicants are especially helpful! PAY Starting at $16.90/hour , depending on experience. Fluent Spanish/English bilingual employees receive an additional $0.25/hour .

This is a temporary position for the Kern County Fair only , September 23-October 4. This is not a position at our Pismo Beach bakery . Please do not call or visit the bakery regarding this job posting, as bakery staff are not involved in hiring for our fair locations. We participate in the Kern County Fair every year and work at other fairs throughout California and Arizona, so although this specific position is temporary, there may be opportunities for future seasonal fair work for great employees.
