Job Description
Job Summary A packaging design, warehouse, and distribution company in Camarillo, CA is seeking an experienced Customer Service Specialist for a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity. This role supports a busy sales team and serves as a key communication link between customers, suppliers, sales representatives, and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong customer service, account support, sourcing, and order management experience, preferably within aerospace, defense, government contract, or technical manufacturing environments. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys managing details, solving customer issues, coordinating with internal teams, and keeping orders moving from development through delivery. - Enter, process, and monitor incoming orders through EDI, web portals, email, and telephone.
- Track order progress, communicate status updates, and ensure critical timelines are met.
- Coordinate order changes, customer requirements, specifications, pricing updates, and supplier communication.
- Maintain accurate customer files, specification records, price quotes, and finished goods inventory as needed.
- Prepare and submit RFQs to suppliers using specifications, drawings, graphics, photos, and reference materials.
- Review aerospace quality clauses, government flow-downs, and contractual compliance requirements. Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour.

- Manage customer order entry, tracking, changes, and status communication from order placement through delivery.
- Support sales representatives and customer accounts with pricing, specifications, inventory, and supplier coordination.
- Prepare RFQs and coordinate sourcing details with suppliers, including technical documentation and customer requirements.
- Review aerospace, government, and defense-related contract requirements for accuracy and compliance.
- At least 5 years of customer service, sourcing, sales support, or account management experience in an office environment.
- Experience working in the aerospace industry or navigating federal government, defense, or contract-based workflows.
- Understanding of corrugated manufacturing capabilities, packaging products, case and foam experience, and truck utilization.
- Experience using spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage phone conversations professionally.
- Strong math, time management, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing needs, work independently, and contribute in a team environment.
- Customer-focused, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced support role.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as AS9100, ITAR, FAR/DFARS, or DPAS priority ratings.
- Experience with EDI systems and customer portal management systems.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- NetSuite experience is a plus.
- Experience operating in a technical, team-oriented manufacturing or packaging environment.
