(ISTours), one of the nation's leading student travel companies for over 40 years, is seeking a dynamic, customer-focused Customer Relations Specialist / Account Manager to join our growing team. This role combines customer account management, operational support, and client relations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is patient, solution-driven, highly organized, and passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences. Position Overview As a Customer Relations Specialist / Account Manager, you will serve as a primary point of contact for travelers, parents, and clients while supporting daily operational functions and account management activities. You will help ensure smooth communication, resolve customer concerns, maintain accurate account records, and assist with trip planning and coordination. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Customer Relations & Account Management Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries via phone and email. Manage high volumes of incoming calls and emails while accurately assessing customer needs. Provide clear, accurate, and timely information using company tools and resources. Handle customer concerns and escalated situations professionally, patiently, and empathetically. Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, account updates, payments, and follow-up communications. Process registrations, payments, refunds, and occasional cash-handling transactions. Support sales-related inquiries and recommend appropriate products or services when applicable. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and personalized support. Operational & Team Support Assist with daily operational tasks, account maintenance, and trip planning coordination. Collaborate with Customer Relations and Event Coordinator teams to support onboarding, informational campaigns, and customer service initiatives. Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, SQL databases, MailChimp, Adobe PDF Editor, and related systems to manage customer accounts and reporting. Analyze customer feedback, trends, and account activity to identify opportunities for service improvements. Support workflow efficiency initiatives and recommend process improvements to enhance overall customer experience. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, account management, operations, or a related field. Strong customer service and phone-handling experience in a fast-paced environment, and handling a high volume of calls and emails. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities. Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and general office software. Experience with SQL, Excel, Outlook, MailChimp, or Adobe PDF Editor is a must. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail are a must. Proven reliability, professionalism, and strong work ethic. Ability to work extended hours and participate in an on-call rotation during the May-June travel period.
