$23-$25/hour DOE About the Opportunity We are seeking a detail-oriented Ocean Export Customer Service Representative to support a busy international logistics team. This temporary-to-hire opportunity is ideal for someone with prior ocean export or freight forwarding experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys providing exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for ocean export customers. Coordinate and monitor export shipments from booking through final departure. Coordinate with overseas offices, steamship lines, truckers, customs brokers, warehouses, and other service providers. Prepare and review export documentation, including Bills of Lading, Shipping Instructions, and other required shipping documents. Coordinate vessel bookings and confirm sailing schedules with steamship lines. Provide customers with shipment updates and proactively communicate delays, changes, or issues. Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the transportation management system. Review shipment details for accuracy and ensure documentation is completed within required deadlines. Resolve customer inquiries professionally and efficiently. Track shipment milestones and coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth export processing. Maintain organized shipment files and documentation. Communicate with overseas agents and customers regarding shipment status and requirements. Qualifications 2+ years of Ocean Export Customer Service or Export Operations experience required. Freight forwarding or NVOCC experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of ocean export documentation and export processes. Familiarity with vessel bookings, shipping instructions, Bills of Lading, and sailing schedules. Strong communication and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple shipments, deadlines, and customer requests simultaneously. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Experience with CargoWise or other freight forwarding software is a plus. Preferred Skills Strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Professional communication with customers, vendors, steamship lines, and overseas partners. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict documentation deadlines.
