Property maintenance Driver's License First Aid Certification Driving Handyman experience AED Certification Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking an adaptable, hands-on Evening Client Support Specialist to support our residential and outpatient facilities. This role combines client transportation, intake support, and facility maintenance while supporting staff and clients during evening hours, ensuring their safety and well-being. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player with excellent communication skills, experience working with high-risk populations, and a passion for helping individuals on their recovery journey. Working Tuesday through Sunday, 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM , you will help maintain a safe, clean, and well-structured environment for our clients while keeping facility operations and vehicles running smoothly. Capo Canyon Recovery is a fully accredited and licensed residential drug and alcohol treatment facility located in Mission Viejo, California, serving executive and professional clientele. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive, safe, and comfortable treatment environment for clients seeking help with substance abuse and dual diagnosis disorders. This job is meant to be flexible and may include supporting our sister outpatient treatment program in San Juan Capistrano and supportive living homes in the surrounding areas. Duties Detox Support & Intakes Cross-train with detox staff to support clinical staff, nurses, and behavioral health techs during evening routines. Assist with client intakes, including conducting detailed property searches and logging personal belongings. Administer and observe urine drug screens (UAs) and breathalyzer (BAC) tests as needed. Support resident safety, self-regulation, and accountability across residential properties. Support crisis intervention efforts as needed, working effectively with individuals experiencing mental health or substance use challenges Transportation & Vehicle Care Transport clients safely to appointments, community meetings, airport pick-ups/drop-offs, and outings.
Maintain all company vehicles:
conduct routine safety checks, fill fuel, and ensure vehicles are regularly washed and kept clean inside and out. Facility Safety & Handyman Maintenance Perform routine safety checklists and monthly facility inspections across residential and supportive living homes. Handle basic handyman maintenance, light repairs, and troubleshooting around the properties. Ensure houses are safe, clean, fully stocked, and properly maintained; run errands and grocery shop as needed.
Qualifications Driving Record:
Valid Driver's License with a clean DMV driving record (Required).
Certifications:
RADT (Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician) certification preferred; CPR, First Aid, and AED required (or willing to obtain upon hire). TB testing at hire and annually (Required) Handyman, maintenance, or basic home repair skills (Strongly Preferred). Personal experience in recovery preferred (minimum 1-2 years of continuous sobriety if applicable). Prior experience in behavioral health, detox, or residential treatment environments preferred.
Flexibility:
Willingness to work a flexible schedule within the 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM window across Tuesday through Sunday.
Core Competencies:
Clear communication, strong boundary-setting skills, physical ability to perform light handyman work/lifting, and strict adherence to client confidentiality/HIPAA. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications for data entry and reporting. Excellent communication and writing skills to document incidents clearly and professionally. Pay:
