Job Type Full time Client Service Representative/Kennel Assistant VCA Orange Animal Hospital, in Orange, CA is looking for a dedicated and personable Client Service Representative/Kennel Assistant. Why We Need You As the face of VCA, the Client Service Representative sets the tone for the practice as we build and maintain each customer's trust and confidence in our abilities. The CSR is the pivot around which the hospital operates and is responsible for: Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms. Scheduling and confirming appointments. Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments. Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions. Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control). Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence. As the point of care for our boarding patients and hospital facilities, the Kennel Assistant is the foundation for hospital flow and cleanliness and is responsible for: Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste) and ensuring the facility is neat and clean at all times—both inside and outside. Cleaning and sanitizing cages to maintain hygiene standards. Feeding and providing attentive care for dogs and cats. Walking dogs to ensure exercise and mental stimulation. Bathing dogs to keep them clean and comfortable. Managing all laundry duties for the facility and staff. Cleaning and maintaining all areas of the hospital premises. Assisting Doctors and Technicians with patient care when necessary. We are looking for an individual who is reliable, detail-oriented, and shares our commitment to excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent Excellent listening and communication skills Compassion for pets and people—as well as awareness and understanding of others' reactions Proven decision-making skills to choose the most appropriate course of action The ability to integrate new information into problem-solving Availability to work an "alternative work week" schedule consisting of 4, 10 hour shifts per week (shifts might be for CSR or Kennel Assistant based on hospital need) Availability to work Saturday as one of the weekly shifts The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and be exposed to hazards associated with pets such as allergies, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste
•Initial training and onboarding schedule will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. After initial training, regular schedule will be Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
