Job Title:
Customer Service Representative About Firecode Firecode Safety Equipment is a family-owned, independent local business that has proudly served the Sacramento region since 1982. We are one of Northern California's largest fire and life safety companies, providing fire extinguisher, fire alarm, fire sprinkler, and hood/suppression services to our customers. We are a growing company with a friendly, down-to-earth work environment where people work hard, help each other, and take pride in providing great service. This is an in-person position at our Rancho Cordova office.
Pay:
$22.00-$25.00 per hour , depending on experience, education, and qualifications. Position Overview We are looking for an organized, dependable, and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our team. This is much more than answering phones. Our Customer Service team is the communication and scheduling hub between our customers, technicians, and department managers. You will help schedule service appointments, communicate with customers, coordinate with our field teams, maintain accurate information in our systems, and help make sure work moves smoothly from the initial customer request through completion. The right person enjoys helping people, pays attention to details, can manage multiple priorities at once, and stays calm and organized when plans change throughout the day. Responsibilities Provide friendly and professional customer service by phone, email, and in person. Schedule and coordinate service appointments for Firecode's field technicians. Communicate with customers regarding appointments, service needs, scheduling changes, and follow-up. Work closely with technicians, department managers, and other Customer Service team members to keep schedules organized and work moving efficiently. Maintain accurate customer, scheduling, job, and service information in Firecode's systems. Review schedules and open work and follow up on items that require additional attention. Respond to customer questions and concerns and involve the appropriate manager when needed. Help resolve scheduling conflicts and other day-to-day service issues. Communicate important information between customers and Firecode's field teams. Learn Firecode's different service departments and develop an understanding of our fire and life safety services. Process service requests and related documentation accurately and timely. Support coworkers and other departments when workload or business needs require additional assistance. Look for opportunities to improve customer service, communication, and internal processes. Take ownership of assigned work and follow through until it is completed or appropriately handed off. Qualifications Minimum two years of office-based customer service, scheduling, administrative, or similar experience preferred. Associate's degree or higher in business or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Comfortable working with phones, email, scheduling systems, and computer-based records throughout the day. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust when schedules or customer needs change. Good judgment and problem-solving skills. Professional and friendly communication style, including when handling difficult customer situations. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate with employees in both office and field-based positions. Comfortable learning technical terminology and the basics of Firecode's different services. Previous experience in a service, construction, dispatch, scheduling, or similar environment is a plus. Experience handling a high volume of incoming and outgoing calls is helpful. Due to certain customer and job-site requirements, employment may be contingent upon successfully completing applicable background and drug-screening requirements.
