Service Writer
Job Description
O2 Employment Services is partnering with a local automotive business to find an experienced Service Writer in Redding, CA. This opportunity is ideal for a knowledgeable, customer-focused professional who can communicate repair needs clearly, assist customers, and keep service transactions organized. Service Writer Compensation $24-$32 per hour, depending on experience Commission opportunities Full Time Service Writer Qualifications At least 2 years of service writing experience Proficient computer skills Knowledge of automotive repairs and components Strong phone, customer service, and interpersonal skills Experience closing invoices, handling cash, and processing credit card payments Availability to work Saturdays as needed Knowledge of oil grades and automotive fluids Understanding of tires, tire sizes, and load and speed ratings Familiarity with labor time guides and programs such as ALLDATA, Mitchell, MOTOR, and Identifix Service Writer Responsibilities Greet customers, discuss vehicle concerns, and document service requests Communicate recommended repairs and maintenance clearly to customers Prepare service estimates using labor time guides and automotive repair software Coordinate with technicians and provide customers with updates on service progress Assist customers with questions about oils, fluids, tires, and vehicle components Prepare and close invoices, collect payments, and process cash and credit card transactions Maintain accurate service records and provide professional customer service throughout the repair process Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
