Role:
Bobcat Central Inc. is hiring a Service Writer for our Stockton location. This customer-facing role is essential to our service operations, handling repair orders, coordinating technician schedules, and keeping customers informed throughout the service process for Bobcat and related equipment. The ideal candidate is organized, service-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment. Experience with heavy equipment or agricultural service is highly valued, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills. What You'll Do:
Serve as the primary point of contact for service customers, providing friendly, timely, and professional support. Write, manage, and close repair and warranty work orders accurately and promptly. Perform equipment walk-arounds and document customer concerns for proper diagnosis. Coordinate and schedule shop and field service technicians, including emergency work. Communicate repair status, timelines, and cost updates to customers. Recommend and sell additional services, service specials, and preventative maintenance. Process warranty claims in compliance with manufacturer requirements. Follow up with customers after service completion to ensure satisfaction. Support technicians with dispatching, documentation, and daily workflow. Build strong, long-term customer relationships through excellent service.
What We're Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent with basic math skills. Prior experience with heavy equipment or agricultural equipment service preferred. Bobcat brand experience a plus. Ability to obtain forklift certification. Strong communication and customer service skills (English/Spanish bilingual a plus). Experience using dealership or service management systems (CDK/Intellidealer preferred). Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Strong problem-solving and time-management skills. Ability to interpret basic service reports and documentation.
