Perform routine and complex clerical duties to resolve patient inquiries regarding insurance billing, account adjustments, and financial arrangements while maintaining strict HIPAA compliance.Key Responsibilities:
Address and resolve patient complaints and correspondence regarding insurance billing, account adjustments, and refunds. Verify insurance status, eligibility, and general account details; process courtesy billing for patients. Forward billing to appropriate insurance carriers to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement. Reconcile refund accounts, attach appropriate documentation, and coordinate with bookkeeping for processing. Safeguard protected health information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED. 1+ years of medical billing and collections experience required (2+ years preferred). Knowledge of medical billing/collections practices, basic medical coding, and computer data entry.Preferred:
