Our Mission To inspire you to Embrace your Outside—with laughter, respect, and your own unique style! About Us We're not your average outdoor shop. We're The Outside Society—a locally owned apparel, footwear, and gear store right here in Basalt, CO. Sure, we've got a growing online shop, but our brick-and-mortar store is where the magic happens. What sets us apart? Exceptional, personal customer service. We don't just sell products—we listen, guide, and connect people with the right gear for their adventures. Customer service isn't just a box we check—it's the heart of everything we do. The Role We're on the hunt for a part-time Customer Experience Associate who's as stoked on people as they are on the great outdoors. You'll also help with opening/closing duties, inventory management, and keeping our shop and online operations running smoothly. What You'll Be Up To Customer Experience (the main event) Deliver exceptional, one-on-one customer service that makes each guest feel welcome and supported Build real connections—remembering names, needs, and maybe even trail stories Help customers find the right apparel, footwear, and gear for their adventures Handle purchases and returns with accuracy and a genuine smile Act as a brand ambassador, sharing our love for the outdoors and unique style with every interaction Keeping the Space Right Keep the floor clean, organized, and inviting (yes, mopping included) Straighten displays and keep products in order Restock shelves and maintain product flow Ensure the shop reflects who we are: welcoming, intentional, and cared for Own the space—if you see something that needs tidying, organizing, or improving, make it happen without being asked Store Operations Open and/or close the shop like a pro (unlocking/locking, alarm systems, cash handling, setup/breakdown) Receive inventory shipments and check in products accurately Enter received inventory into our system with attention to detail Pack and ship online orders with care—they're someone's gear, treat them right Keep the backroom organized so we can actually find things Bridge our physical shop and online business—you're an essential part of both What We're Looking For A genuine people-person who loves to chat, laugh, and connect Friendly, approachable, and great at starting conversations Comfort being on your feet all day—this role is active and hands-on Pride in maintaining a clean, organized space An authentic personality and willingness to be real with customers Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude, even on busy days A willingness to learn our products, our community, everyday Attention to detail with inventory and order accuracy Basic computer skills for POS and inventory systems Team player who thrives in a fun, supportive, outdoor-loving environment Retail or customer service experience?
