Job Description
Primary Responsibility:
The Guest Service Representative position involves a high degree of public interaction and ensures daily operations of the facility are ran in a positive and professional manner. Position is responsible for championing and delivering consistent, exceptional service to guests in a fun and welcoming environment. This position is responsible for receiving and answering inquiries from the public by telephone, via email, or in person on a wide range of services/programs, rates, policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for completing point of sale transactions, handling program registrations, group reservations and rentals, pass sales and collecting admissions. In addition, the Guest Service Representative will ensure that safety standards are followed by doing regular walk-throughs and light cleaning to make sure all guests have a positive experience while visiting the Parks and Recreation Community Center.Supervised by:

The duties listed below are representative of, but do not necessarily include, all the duties and responsibilities that an individual in this position may be called upon to perform. With attention to detail assists guests with registration, waivers, and information for all programs, facility use, and passes in a friendly and professional manner demonstrating high standards of customer service. Ability to learn and efficiently use specialized recreation software. Collects appropriate and accurate admission, program, and pass fees. Utilizes the cash drawer specialized software according to county guidelines. Counts cash drawer and verifies accurate accounting at the end of each shift/day. Answers, screens, and transfers calls in a positive, professional, and knowledgeable manner, and makes phone calls as assigned. Maintains account records of participants according to established procedures using specialized software. Opens and closes Community Center according to procedures and checklists. Ensures that residency is verified and correct guest registration information is collected. Schedules general facility rentals and reservations; to include the multi-purpose room, gymnasium, lounge, swimming pools, barn and outdoor arena functions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; receiving rental request forms, customer relations, payments, room set-ups, room take-downs and ensures cleanliness before and after rentals. Opens and closes the facility and performs regular building checks/walk-throughs to ensure safety and cleanliness. Spot cleans fitness equipment and floors, organizes common areas and weight room when needed. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the Recreation Supervisor or Parks & Recreation Director, and any duties needed to stabilize an emergency situation. Qualifications forSuccess:
Technical Knowledge:
Proficiency with MS Office Suite required. Knowledge of recreation software and point of sale is preferred.Ability to:
Establish and maintain courteous and effective working relationships with employees, the public and other agencies. Accurately and effectively transmit and receive information that is necessary to the accomplishment of goals and objectives, including effective written and oral communications in English; and the ability to listen. Work efficiently and effectively as a team member within the department. Exercise independent judgment. Understand, interpret and communicate policies, procedures, code of conduct and protocols. Work in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidate will be personable and friendly, have a great phone demeanor, possess a positive 'can-do' attitude, and be deadline and detail oriented.Experience:
At least one-year customer service work experience preferred. Experience using a cash register preferred. Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.Certifications:
Obtain CPR/AED, First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment. Must possess FEMA IS100 and IS700a within six months of employment.Mental/Physical Demands:
Perform a wide variety of physical tasks such as bending, stooping, standing, walking, and climbing stairs. Lift and carry materials and custodial equipment weighing up to 50 pounds; in excess of 50 pounds with assistance. May come into contact with human fluids and waste (i.e., blood, sputum, urine). Work with hazardous materials such as solvents and chemicals. Work in inclement weather. Work around dust, dirt, noise, and odors.Hours:
Regular shifts to be determined once position has been filled, nights and weekends required. Community Center hours are as follows: Monday and Wednesday 7am- 8pm, Thursday 3:30pm

Gilpin County provides 13 paid holidays per calendar year. An employee will be paid ten (10) hours per holiday.Vacation:
The first year of employment, (based on the anniversary of the hire date) full-time employees are given 40 hours of vacation and earn 3 hours of paid vacation leave bi-weekly.
