Education Associate, School Transportation Description of Position:
The Casual Seasonal Field Agent, School Transportation assists the Education Associate of School Transportation in continuing the office mission of safe and efficient transportation. This position ensures the transportation mission is met by conducting statewide regulation compliance monitoring; contract and record auditing; financial monitoring, coordination, and reconciliation.
Major Responsibilities:
Conduct and coordinate administrative reviews and monitor driver and aide records for all sites funded through school transportation. Conduct comprehensive audits of driver and aide records, bus routes, and vehicle compliance. Audit and review drug and alcohol testing invoices, before approving payments. Audit and approve monthly funding for Homeless/Foster and Specialized to LEAs. Audit and approve monthly funding reporting for 4-Hour Training. Assist Education Associate with balancing and reconciling transportation funding lines. Assist in the quarterly Drug & Alcohol Employee Listing and assist employers with reminders to complete required testing. Assist in reviewing compliance with Accident Summary compliance. Assist in "S" Endorsement process, processing daily/monthly "S" removal notices. Process all Safety Recall Notices Coordinate community outreach including I Love the Bus activities. Perform duties and responsibilities in FSF, as needed.
Essential Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's degree in business, accounting, management, logistics, transportation, education or related field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience:
Experience working with
Microsoft Office Products:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and Teams Experience working with employee file management and auditing for compliance. Experience with program or financial monitoring, auditing, coordination, or oversight. Experience working with Transportation or Commercial Motor Vehicles operations, preferred. Experience working with a team.
Skills:
Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient in performing responsibilities with minimal supervision. Must be skilled in setting priorities, working under pressure, and working in collaboration with others. Must be able to proactively solve problems with professionalism. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with staff in a tactful, congenial, and personal manner. Must be experienced in exercising discretion and confidentiality in all professional duties.
Salary:
Salary Range:
$41.29 to $64.89 per hour. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's education and experience in accordance with the Department of Education's compensation policy. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, participation in the state retirement program, annual, sick, and personal leave, and supplemental benefits options. Direct deposit of payroll checks is a condition of state employment, and employees are paid on a lag pay schedule with the first payment made after approximately one month of employment.
