Full Job Description Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Service Writer. As a Service Writer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our automotive service department. Your primary responsibility will be to communicate with customers, assess their vehicle's needs, and coordinate service appointments.Duties:
- Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service
- Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues
- Schedule service appointments and ensure efficient workflow in the service department
- Communicate with technicians to relay customer concerns and vehicle information
- Provide accurate estimates for repairs and obtain customer approval
- Coordinate with parts department to ensure timely delivery of necessary parts
- Keep customers updated on the status of their vehicle repairs
- Process payments and maintain accurate records of transactions
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a dealership or automotive repair environment is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of automotive systems
- Familiarity with common automotive repair services such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, shocks, and struts
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills for data entry and record keeping
