Clerk Customer Service Specialist Location:
315 Court Street, Room 170, Clearwater, FL 33756
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. This is a Clerk Customer Service Specialist position within the Civil Court Records Department of the Pinellas County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller's Office. Clerk Customer Service Specialists assist the general public, intake documents, and cashier transactions while performing an assortment of duties and work processes based on the specific area of assignment. Clerk Customer Service Specialists are tasked with handling specialized documents that may have financial impacts to the customers we serve. Staff in these positions will have heavy daily customer contact, including with members from the judiciary, attorneys, partner agencies, and the general public. The area of assignment can include any department under the Clerk of the Circuit Court. Clerk Customer Service Specialists exercise a high degree of independent judgment based on experience and knowledge of department operations. Deviations from standard policies and procedures are referred to a higher level for decision. What Would You Do? Assist public at front counter . Validation of various types of payments, i.e. Civil, Traffic, Misdemeanor, Felony . Daily balancing of cash drawers . Prepare cash reports . Intake of new Civil, County, Family and Small Claims cases . Issuance of summonses . Intake of injunctions, process supplemental pleadings . Filing, scanning, docketing . Answer calls and schedule appointments for Self Help Center . Answer calls transferred from the Customer Information Center . Performs related work as assigned, or required. What Do you Have To Have? 2 years' experience in cashiering or accounting and practical skills in the use of computer equipment; or An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Rotational weekend emergency intake of domestic injunctions . Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations. Highly Desirable Knowledge of automated office equipment, practices and procedures . Knowledge of legal terminology, grammar, spelling, math and bookkeeping methods . Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing . Skilled in the application of quality customer service Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of the principles of cashiering, governmental accounting and record keeping procedures pertinent to area of assignment . Knowledge of the Florida Statutes, Rules of Court and regulations pertinent to area of assignment . Ability to make and apply decision in accordance with laws, regulations and procedures.
