Job Description

Kottke Trucking, a privately held, family-owned truckload carrier specializing in reefer (temperature controlled) and dry freight services, is looking for a Service Writer/Road Breakdown Coordinator to join our team. We gave been in continuous operation since 1938 by three generations of the Kottke family. Service driven, with old-fashioned work ethics, we strive to build long-term customer relationships through outstanding customer service. Long-term client relations are cultivated by our dedicated operations team, experienced drivers and our commitment to superior customer service.
Function of Job:
Ensure timely repairs by scheduling repairs and follow up.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Taking calls from driver regarding equipment issues Coordinate breakdowns with dispatch, shop manager and driver Paying outside repairs and obtaining proper invoicing Scheduling repairs into company shops Coordinating parts needs w/ parts/shop lead as needed for scheduled repairs. Assisting with parts vendors and parts deliveries Assist in inventory stocking. Entering fleet message and coordinating parts needs Updating yard check documents. Checking mechanic's shop entries. Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Computer/data entry skills for management of software for maintenance program and parts inventory control. Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment of the trade. Knowledge of the principles of internal combustion engines, 12v electric, air brakes, after treatment, tires, ac, reefer units and mechanical systems. Ability to analyze reported equipment issues and plan accordingly. Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job, including lifting and bending. Strong organizational skills Must be able to wear and use appropriate protective equipment, as necessary. The position is full time with benefits.
