Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Newnan Utilities is currently offering internship opportunities for full-time students, 18 years or older, to gain on-the-job experience in our Customer Service department.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet and welcome customers Interact with customers via telephone, or in-person to provide support and information on products and/or services Process customer payment transactions and ensure customer account information is correct and updated Assist customers with billing questions and inquiries Ensure cash drawer is balanced at the end of each shift Field customer questions and complaints to the Customer Service Supervisor, and if unavailable, the Customer Service Manager, when escalation or assistance is needed Ensure that appropriate action is taken to resolve customer problems or concerns Maintain accurate customer accounts and records of customer interactions with details of inquiries, complaints and/or comments Direct incoming and outgoing calls and correspondences appropriately Perform other related duties as assigned

Communicates clearly and effectively Represents Newnan Utilities in a positive and professional manner Exhibits teamwork Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations Proven time management skills Exceptional customer service skills Proficient computer skills
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Currently enrolled full-time in High School, University, or Technical College License | Certifications None Hardware | Software | Technical | Other Skills Knowledge of basic math Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to multi-task Ability to adapt and learn new computer programs and software Accurate in cash handling
