Responsibilities Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently to process transactions accurately and quickly. Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product demos when needed. Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures. Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, restock shelves, and assist with merchandising to enhance store presentation. Upsell products by recommending complementary items to boost sales and improve customer satisfaction. Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely. Support stocking efforts by organizing inventory, checking stock levels, and ensuring products are available for customers. Engage in basic retail math to calculate totals, discounts, and change accurately. Demonstrate supervising experience by guiding new team members or assisting in training when necessary. Conduct product demos to educate customers about new or featured items, encouraging engagement and sales. Qualifications Prior experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential. Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are a plus. Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic retail math. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to create positive shopping experiences. Ability to multitask effectively in a busy grocery store environment while maintaining attention to detail. Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities within the team.
