Operate cash registers and Point of Sale (POS) systems to process transactions. Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with accuracy and attention to detail. Maintain knowledge of current promotions, sales, and store policies to assist customers effectively. Perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate pricing and change. Assist in managing inventory by restocking shelves and organizing merchandise. Provide support in supervising junior staff members when necessary. Communicate effectively with customers over the phone, addressing any questions or issues promptly. Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization in the checkout area. Qualifications Proven experience in customer service or retail environment is preferred. Strong understanding of retail math and basic math skills for transaction accuracy. Excellent communication skills with a focus on phone etiquette. Ability to handle cash responsibly and accurately using cash registers or POS systems. Experience in sales is a plus, demonstrating an ability to upsell products when appropriate. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
