Job Description
Description Robert half is looking for a Customer Service Representative to join a dynamic team in Deer Park, Illinois on a Contract basis. This role is well suited for someone who stays composed in a high-volume environment, communicates clearly with a range of stakeholders, and enjoys resolving questions with accuracy and care. The position focuses on supporting customers, clients, and branch teams through phone and system-based interactions while maintaining strong attention to detail across multiple platforms.
Customer Service Representative Responsibilities:
- Respond to a large volume of inbound inquiries and provide timely, detail-focused support to candidates, clients, and branch staff.
- Research payroll and service concerns, gather relevant information, and guide each issue through to an accurate resolution.
- Record, update, and maintain transaction details in multiple systems, escalating items when additional payroll review is needed.
- Clarify service processes, expected timelines, and available solutions so users understand next steps and available resources.
- Promote and explain self-service options and communication tools to help users complete common tasks more efficiently.
- Handle unscripted conversations with sound judgment, adapting communication style to address unique situations and concerns effectively.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to coordinate follow-up, resolve open items, and ensure a consistent service experience across channels.

- Prior experience in customer service, call center support, or a similar high-volume service environment.
- Ability to manage inbound calls, outbound follow-up, and shared inbox activity with professionalism and efficiency.
- Experience entering and updating information accurately in CRM systems and other business platforms.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain processes clearly to different audiences.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and confidence handling real-time service issues with minimal scripting.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills when documenting transactions and tracking follow-up actions.
- Comfortable working the required schedule, including Monday, Tuesday, and Friday hours that differ from Wednesday and Thursday shifts.
