Position Overview The Customer Service Officer is responsible for managing customer inquiries, accurately processing orders, coordinating shipments and pickups, and supporting invoicing activities. Working with minimal supervision, this role collaborates regularly with sales, logistics, and production teams to track orders, resolve issues, and maintain accurate customer information in relevant systems. The Customer Service Officer monitors customer satisfaction, proactively addresses service concerns, prepares basic reports and documentation, and supports continuous improvement of the overall customer experience. Key Responsibilities Manage customer inquiries and service requests in a timely and professional manner. Accurately enter, process, and maintain customer orders in SAP. Coordinate customer shipments and pickups with logistics, production, and other internal teams. Support the preparation and accuracy of customer invoicing. Track order status, communicate updates, and resolve order or delivery issues. Maintain complete and current customer information and documentation in relevant systems. Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address service concerns. Prepare basic reports and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the customer experience. Promote a positive, collaborative, and service-focused work environment. Qualifications Associate degree or at least five years of relevant experience in customer service, order management, or supply chain. Demonstrated experience in customer service or customer support, including managing inquiries, resolving issues, and handling service requests professionally. SAP experience; advanced-user proficiency is strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to work full time on-site in Itasca, Illinois Preferred Skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust, communicate clearly, and collaborate effectively with customers and internal teams. Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to consistent, high-quality service and follow-up. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Previous experience in a B2B or industrial environment, preferably chemicals, manufacturing, or coatings. Additional language skills are beneficial in a global business environment.
