Description Veterinary Client Service Representative River Heights Veterinary Hospital Part-time relief -morning, weekend, and evening availability required Oswego, IL At River Heights Veterinary Hospital, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, we offer primary care and boarding for cats and dogs in Yorkville, Oswego, and Montgomery. We are proud to be AAHA certified. Our primary purpose is to serve clients whose pets are members of their family and want the best health care for them. We continually strive for excellence in medicine and service to enrich and lengthen the special relationship between people and their pets. In this role, you'll support pet parents, help keep appointments running smoothly, and contribute to a positive experience for every client and patient. The ideal candidate is empathetic, dependable, and communicates clearly and professionally in person, on the phone, and online. Responsibilities include but are not limited: Greet clients and their pets in a friendly, professional, and compassionate manner. Answer and direct incoming phone calls, emails, and other communications. Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments for routine, emergency, and specialty veterinary services. Maintain accurate client and patient records using veterinary practice management software. Check patients in and out for appointments, surgeries, and boarding services. Process invoices, payments, estimates, and financial transactions accurately. Explain hospital policies, services, treatment plans, and preventive care recommendations as directed by veterinary staff. Coordinate communication between clients and veterinarians regarding appointments, medical updates, and follow-up care. Handle client concerns, complaints, and inquiries professionally and empathetically. Assist with prescription refill requests and coordinate medication pickups. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area. Support inventory, filing, and other administrative tasks as needed. Follow hospital protocols regarding confidentiality, safety, and client service standards. What we're looking for: Experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, medical office, or healthcare setting. Familiarity with veterinary practice management software. Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous customer service, receptionist, or administrative experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficiency with computer systems and office software. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
