American Arms Indoor/Outdoor Range - Bedford, Indiana Overview American Arms Indoor/Outdoor Range is looking for a dependable, energetic, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service & Gun Store Associate . This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced firearms retail and shooting range environment. Our team members are often the first point of contact for customers entering the facility, so we are looking for someone who is friendly, professional, safety-conscious, and comfortable working with customers from all levels of firearms experience—from first-time shooters to experienced firearm owners. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and sales skills, excellent attention to detail, and a willingness to learn about firearms, ammunition, accessories, range services, memberships, and the products we offer. Firearms knowledge is a plus, but attitude, dependability, professionalism, and a willingness to learn are equally important. Training can be provided to the right candidate. Responsibilities Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service throughout their visit. Assist customers with firearms, ammunition, accessories, range services, memberships, rentals, and other products offered by American Arms. Answer phone calls, emails, and customer questions accurately and professionally. Help customers identify products and services that fit their needs without creating a high-pressure sales environment. Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately process cash, credit card, and other transactions. Maintain accurate customer and transaction records. Assist with firearm sales paperwork and other required documentation in accordance with company procedures and applicable laws and regulations. Maintain strict attention to safety and established range and store policies. Explain range rules, rental procedures, memberships, and available services to customers. Help maintain a clean, organized, professional showroom, counter, and customer service area. Stock merchandise, organize inventory, and assist with product displays. Assist with promotions, special events, classes, memberships, and customer outreach. Communicate effectively with Range Safety Officers, management, and other team members. Help resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently. Be willing to learn about new firearms, optics, suppressors, ammunition, accessories, and other products carried by American Arms. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable speaking with customers. Dependable and able to arrive on time and ready to work. Safety-minded and capable of following established procedures. Detail-oriented, especially when handling transactions and documentation. Comfortable working around firearms and shooting-range activity. Able to communicate professionally in person and over the phone. Comfortable using computers, point-of-sale systems, Microsoft Office, and other business software. Able to work both independently and as part of a team. Willing to learn and continually expand their knowledge of firearms and the shooting sports. Comfortable recommending products and identifying sales opportunities based on a customer's needs. Able to remain professional and patient when handling difficult or unfamiliar customer situations. Willing to help wherever needed in a growing firearms and shooting-range business. Preferred Experience Previous experience in firearms retail, sporting goods, customer service, sales, shooting ranges, military, law enforcement, security, or related fields is beneficial but not required. Knowledge of firearms, ammunition, optics, suppressors, accessories, concealed-carry products, and shooting sports is a strong plus. Candidates who already have firearms or range safety experience are encouraged to apply, but we are also willing to train motivated individuals who demonstrate good judgment, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safety.
